Son David's Call to Campus Ministry
We're so proud of David: he is on the road to becoming a campus minister with CCO (see links - Coalition for Christian Outreach) at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Here's what he has to say about it:
After much thought and prayer, we believe God has called me into full time campus ministry with the CCO--the organization Erin has been working for these past 6 years... I can't tell you all how excited we are about this. I've been waiting for some sort of direction as to what to do with my heart for college students for a very long time. I got my masters in higher education two years ago and wanted to go after being a professor with it. However, I'm coming to realize that working one on one and in small groups with students is more of what I want to do, and the campus minister position is perfect for that. Especially in light of recent events on campuses across the country, I'm more convinced than ever that the 4-6 years at college are as important--if not more important--than any other period in our lives. So much happens during those years--deciding on a career, figuring out what we think about life, God, happiness, etc, marriage, friendships, and the list goes on. I'm so excited to be able to be there with students as they go through these times and to help them think through some of these big ideas and possibilities.
Please pray for Dave and Erin as they begin support-raising, that as they fix their eyes on Jesus He will provide all their needs.
Our Favorite Nurse
We're so proud of our daughter, Erin. After a lot of work, prayer, blood, sweat, and tears she has become an ICU nurse at a large hospital in Pittsburgh. She deals with life and death and hurting people. We know the Lord is using her to touch people - to give physical comfort, a smile, a touch, very complicated and precise medical care, and love. She has become a precious young lady who loves the Lord and wants to serve Him in His Kingdom. You go, girl!
