Long-distance grandparenting

We may be on the other side of the world, but we're still grandparents.  We are VERY GRATEFUL for technology these days!  We've had video chats with both kids and granddaughters.  Also several "chats" on facebook.  What a gift to be able to do this!  We couldn't do it 20 years ago when we were here...we waited for that once-a-month, costly, hard-to-hear phone call, and there was no email.  Now we can talk to our family every day if we want to, as well as SEE them.  We thank the Lord that we live in this day and time where the world seems much smaller than it used to be.

You guys are such cool grandparents :) I was wondering about this feature of being out the country_ Benjamin and I were discussing this very thing last night- are video chats at all delayed (any more than usual) when you are across the ocean. I said no, he said yes... so... which is it? :)

Since I got my new laptop for my birthday I am able to Skype too. I love it. I get to talk to my sister in Holland for FREE and we actually get to see each other. The other day we did it for the first time and her son actually gave me a "tour" of their down stairs on the "phone". It was great:)
And Jess, there really was not much of a delay although sometimes I would lose sound on "MY" side but she could still hear me. It would only be a few seconds and then it would work again.
